Our design team worked tirelessly to get the details just right—carefully crafted backlighting, UV- and stain-resistant coating to prevent yellowing and staining, and coordinated packaging and accessories. Stunning strength:The XPS 13 is cut from a single block of aluminum, so it’s more durable than a machine that’s pieced together. Carbon fiber, inspired by the aerospace industry, and woven glass fiber of the palm rest, allow for maximum strength and minimal weight. Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 is twice as damage resistant compared to competitive products.

Improved camera location:We pushed innovation to its limits to create the world's smallest HD webcam (only 2.25mm) that’s housed in the top of the famed InfinityEdge display—now front and center.
Revolutionary webcam construction:The new XPS 13 webcam isn't just smaller—it's also better. A new 4-element lens uses more elements than a typical webcam to deliver sharp video in all areas of the frame, while temporal noise reduction uses advanced noise reduction, significantly improving video quality, especially in dim lighting conditions. Finally, the lens is assembled with precise machinery to ensure all points of the image are in focus.
One-handed open:The new variable torque hinge design enables an easy, one-handed open. It also means your screen is more stable, even when you're in motion or using the optional touchscreen.
An icy white:We kept pushing the XPS 13 until we perfected our woven glass fiber palm rest to be a brighter-than-ever white, called arctic white.

Saving our seas:Recognized as a CES® 2018 Best of Innovation Awards Honoree, our black packaging trays are a step beyond recycled. 25% of the material consists of ocean plastics collected from coastal areas, while the remaining 75% is made up of other recycled plastics.
Energy efficient:XPS 13 is ENERGY STAR® certified.
Safer materials:Free of materials like cadmium, lead, mercury and some phthalates, it’s also EPEAT® 2018 Bronze registered and BFR/PVC-free.
Recycle-friendly:90% of the laptop’s parts can be easily recycled or reused, and the white bamboo packaging trays are 100% recyclable.
